  • Fifth EB Wage Instalment Payable

The next pay rise in accordance with the Certified Agreement 2001 is payable from 7 December 2005. We have been advised by the Victoria Police Force that your new wage rate has been included in your pay on 8 December 2005.

This pay increase is the final instalment arising out of the 2001 Certified Agreement and provides on average 6% pay increase for most members. Given the current state government pay policy of 2.25% per annum, current inflation rates, and current national wage growth trends this represents significant real salary growth for our members. In addition, the increase compare favourably to instalments negotiated in recent pay outcomes across other interstate police agencies eg NT and NSW.

The Association is committed to continue pursuing significant real wage growth for members in next year's EB 2006 campaign.

Association Subscription

This latest pay rise means that there will be a modest increase in Association subscriptions of up to 50 cents per fortnight.

The fortnightly Association subscription rate is prescribed in a formula set out in Article 8 of the Articles of Association. In relation to full members the rate is determined by 1.25 percent of 87 percent of the annual salary of a 3rd year Constable. For a recruit, the fortnightly subscription rate represents half the rate that is applicable for full members.

Accordingly, from pay day 22 December 2005 there will be a slight increase in fortnightly Association subscriptions by 50 cents to $23.70 for full members. An increase of 25 cents to $16.30 per fortnight will apply to recruits in training (these amounts includes a fortnightly subscription to the VPA Friendly Society of $1.50).

It is essential that you remember to allow for this small additional deduction from your financial institution account on 22 December 2005.
