25 July
  • Proposed Changes to the Police Regulation Act
  • Special General Meeting of Members and Your Families

As we reported in Newsletter 46/05 on 19 July 2005, The Police Association has arranged two very important meetings in the coming days as a means of combating changes to the Police Regulation Act being proposed by the Chief Commissioner and the Government.

This Wednesday 27 July 2005, a special meeting of Association Delegates is scheduled to discuss the proposed changes and to deliberate on a course of action by the membership to resist them.

This meeting of delegates will be followed several days later by a scheduled mass meeting of members and family members, details of which are as follows;

Where: Rod Laver Arena

When: Sunday, 7 August 2005

Time: 11:00am

This meeting will be an opportunity for your views and those of your family members to be heard.

The Association will be facilitating bus transport, via your local delegates. Further details will be provided in the coming days.

This meeting is vitally important. We urge all members and their families to make every effort to attend so that we can send a powerful message to the Chief Commissioner and the Government that we don’t want our rights eroded and be treated like second class citizens.
