Joint Meeting of Emergency Service Union Executives Decide on Industrial Action
Yesterday's historic joint meeting of emergency service union executives unanimously voted to take industrial action over the government's ill-conceived plan to merge our precious ESSS with the massively under-funded GSO scheme.
This decision follows a resolution carried at the mass meeting of emergency service workers on 25 September authorising the combined union executives to formulate and implement an industrial action strategy at a date determined to be appropriate.
The effect of this decision by the joint union executives is that while industrial action has been authorised, the implementation of the industrial action strategy will take effect at a time that will have the greatest impact on government.
Naturally, members will be advised in due course when this will be. Each union will, in the meantime, communicate with their respective membership in the coming days to clearly outline the form the bans will take. This will occur in the form of workplace visits to be undertaken by your union representatives and delegates and through newsletters and emails.
In the meantime, we encourage members to continue supporting this campaign to send a message a to government that is clear and strong; Hands off our Super!
If you need more information please contact your delegate or your union directly.
