RALLY AGAINST SUPERANNUATION MERGER
11.00 AM SUNDAY, 25 SEPTEMBER
DALLAS BROOKS HALL

Members are urged to join their fire and ambulance colleagues at Sunday's meeting to ensure that their superannuation entitlements are not placed at risk by the State Governments plan to merge ESSS with the GSO scheme, which is unfunded to the tune of billions of dollars.

Despite repeated attempts by the combined emergency services unions to resolve this dispute, the Government has indicated its merger proposal will be considered by Cabinet on Monday, 26 September 2005

It is therefore vitally important that as many members as possible attend Sunday's meeting if we are to succeed in this fight against the Government.

A maximum attendance of emergency services workers at the meeting will send a powerful message to Government that our precious superannuation scheme must not be tampered with and put at risk.

This meeting will be an historic occasion, as it will be the first time police will band together with their emergency services colleagues at a mass meeting to fight a common cause.

Buses are being provided to enable members to attend the meeting - please check Newsletter 73/05 for details or contact your local Association Delegate or the Association offices on 9495 6899 (tollfree on 1800 800 537).

A barbecue will be provided following the meeting.

It is disappointing that the Chief Commissioner has refused to give permission for members to attend this meeting whilst on duty.

SEE YOU AT THE MEETING
