TPA meets with Force on EBA implementation issuesThe Police Association recently met with Force Representatives to discuss implementation issues surrounding the 2007 Workplace Agreement. Excessive Hours The Association is concerned with the arbitrary ‘cap’ of hours imposed at the Crime Department prior to the excessive hours penalty being paid. The Association is continuing to negotiate around this issue and hopes to clarify the definition of excessive hours in coming weeks. Members who may incur excessive hours are reminded to seek prior approval and keep appropriate records of time worked. Incremental Progression to LSC Overall, the progression of 12th increment Senior Constables to the LSC classification has been progressing well with a relatively small number of applications from members having been returned for `further attention’. The Association will continue to monitor our members’ progression through this increment to ensure that the process applied is fair to all. Shift Allowances The Association strongly believes that members that work part of an hour attracting a penalty should be paid for that portion of the penalty despite the fact that the Force is refusing to pay members at this stage. We will continue to seek a resolution to this matter that would ensure members are paid exactly what they are entitled to under the new agreement. We will continue to keep you informed of our progress on these issues but remind members with any queries to contact the Police Association for advice. Paul Mullett Secretary |
