Parties agree that the status quo will remain while talks continue
Further to our last InBrief update on this issue on 2 February, the parties last week agreed to schedule further meetings in order to progress this issue.
The agreement to further meetings extends the 30 January timeframe – originally set by the Australian Industrial Relations Commission (AIRC) – and follows the completion of several workplace visits which were jointly undertaken by the parties during January.
Following the site visits, the parties arrived at a consensus view that more time was necessary to allow for further discussions to occur. The parties have agreed that the 30 January timeframe will extend to 30 March.
The Association will continue to work towards achieving a satisfactory outcome for our members affected by this issue in the weeks to follow.
