  • Association to hold urgent meeting with the Chief Commissioner

Given the litany of unresolved issues affecting our membership and the recent media attention surrounding The Police Association’s relationship with the Chief Commissioner, the Association has requested an urgent meeting between the parties.

The Police Association this week called an urgent meeting with the Chief Commissioner to find a way forward on the many urgent unresolved issues facing our membership.

The issues to be addressed include, but are not limited to;

·         The Enterprise Bargaining Agreement

·         Resourcing

·         Upgrading of weapons

·         Fair and reasonable compensation for ‘common law right to sue’ members

·         Termination of alternative hours of work

·         A review of the Major Crime Management Model

Our offer to meet directly with the Chief Commissioner has been accepted and will occur at midday on Monday 19 February.

It is hoped that this meeting will deliver a commitment from the Chief Commissioner to work with the Association in the interests of our members and the broader community.

Given the pivotal importance of this meeting to our membership we will advise you of any outcomes on Monday as soon as they are known.
