  • Discussions continue over 12-hour roster dispute

Discussions are continuing with Victoria Police Force over the Alternate Hours of Work dispute. Members are advised to maintain current work practices until a resolution has been reached.

Following the Australian Industrial Relations Commission (AIRC) ruling, your Association has continued to work towards a resolution of the Alternate Hours of Work (12-hour roster) dispute.  Since this decision the Association;

·         has meet weekly with the Force to discuss the issues in dispute

·         received a firm commitment from the Force that while both parties are still in discussions, 12-hour roster arrangements will not be terminated

·         attended joint site meetings (15 – 22 January 2007) with the Force to speak to managers and members affected by the dispute.

Following the site visits, the Association and the Force will now meet to consolidate their understanding of the issues in dispute and how they affect our members.

The Association will continue to work toward obtaining a satisfactory outcome for our members in the weeks to come.

In the meantime, members are advised to maintain the status quo until they receive further advice from the Association at the conclusion of negotiations.
