Senior Sergeant mobility model

On 15 February, The Police Association was formally advised by the Victoria Police Force that it intends to commence a mobility model for Senior Sergeants within Division 3 of Regions 1 and 4.

Commissioned Officers have suffered the debilitating and morale lowering effect of the Force’s mobility arrangements for some time. The Force, obviously not being content with the disruption that this rotation process has had on its senior members, is now intent on eventually subjecting all members and all communities to rotation of its middle managers.

It is our strong view that it is purely designed to target those who do not fit in with the Force’s plans for the future.

The Association will do everything within its power and influence to stop this mobility model for Senior Sergeants occurring.

In representing the views of our members, we have advised that we will have a meeting of Senior Sergeants from the affected Divisions in the very near future for the purpose of sharing information and to discuss strategies.

All members should be aware that this is only the “thin end of the wedge” and if we do not stop this outdated management practice now, it will soon affect all of our members with the Chief Commissioner having the ability to move people on a whim.
