Stand with Victorian ambos!Victorian ambulance workers have recently launched the ‘Response Time’ campaign to achieve a better and safer ambulance service. Most Association members will be well acquainted with the work of their ambulance colleagues. As emergency services workers, ambos, like police, do a demanding and difficult job that comes with great personal sacrifice. As part of their EBA negotiations, ambos are urging the Government to address the big issues facing the profession - long delays in emergencies, dangerous paramedic fatigue and critical understaffing of the intensive care MICA service. Victorian ambos are also enlisting our support to call on Premier Brumby to revive the ambulance service. Visit www.responsetime.org.au for more information and to register your message of support. Expense-Related Allowances increasedMembers are reminded that Expense-Related Allowances increased on 1 July 2008. The increase is prescribed under the Victoria Workplace Agreement 2007. As part of the agreement, members can expect to see further increases to their Expense-Related Allowances at the start of each financial year. To view your new Expense-Related Allowances, visit the Industrial Relations section of our website, www.tpav.org.au, then click on the ‘Your EBA’ link. Members with queries regarding increases to Expense-Related Allowances or any aspect of the Workplace Agreement can contact the Association’s industrial relations team on (03) 9495 6899. Secretary |
