Association to fight to protect 12-hour rosters

The Police Association has continued to receive feedback from members about the Force’s intention to terminate 10 and 12-hour rosters.

In attempting to abolish the 10 and 12-hour roster, the Force has abandoned the process it is required to follow when considering terminating any roster, including failing to consult with The Police Association.

The Force’s plans to terminate the rosters not only breach the Workplace Agreement, but defy the Force’s supposed commitment to flexible and family friendly rostering practices.

As part of The Police Association’s efforts to maintain 10 and 12-hour rosters, a dispute notice has been issued with the Australian Industrial Relations Commission.

However, to effectively fight this latest attack on your roster, we need to hear from you!

If your 10 or 12-hour roster is under threat, contact the Association’s industrial relations section as soon as possible. The Association can provide immediate advice and support and, if necessary, visit your station.

The Association will continue to do everything possible to protect flexible 10 and 12-hour rosters for members and will keep members updated as this issue progresses.
