Police Association Secretary Paul Mullett was earlier today served with summonses by the Victoria Police Force that contained five charges relating to the Office of Police Integrity public hearings that were held last November.

The charges are: attempting to pervert the course of justice and two counts each of perjury and misleading the Director of Police Integrity.

Paul maintains his innocence and has informed the President that he will take leave for an indeterminate period.

In the meantime, members can rest assured that The Police Association will continue with business as usual; representing members on a range of issues such as resourcing, protective equipment and the enforcement of key conditions arising from the recent EB agreement. We will also continue to provide strident advocacy in the face of proposed draconian changes to the Police Regulation Act.
