Post-rally member meetings commence

The first of the Association’s post-rally meetings commenced in Melbourne yesterday, kicking-off a series of member meetings to be held across the state throughout June. 250 members in attendance made the following resolutions to demand modern equipment and action on resource shortages.

“That The Police Association introduce work bans by mid July 2008 if the Chief Commissioner / Brumby Government does not acknowledge and resolve the resourcing issues which affect community safety.”

“Due to the obstinance of the Chief Commissioner of Police in failing to equip members with the best equipment, whilst funding has been approved, work bans be introduced immediately.”

The second of The Police Association’s post-rally meetings will be held today for members in the northern and western suburbs.
