Post-rally member meeting – Mildura

The second week of post-rally meetings commenced yesterday in Mildura. At the meeting, members carried the following resolutions:

“ON THE BASIS OF COMMUMITY SAFETY AND AS A RESULT OF THE REFUSAL OF THE CHIEF COMMISIONER OF POLICE AND THE VICTORIAN GOVERNMENT TO PROPERLY RESOURCE VICTORIA POLICE WE CALL FOR THE INTRODUCTION OF WORK PLACE BANS.”

“UNTIL SUCH TIME AS VICTORIA POLICE AND THE VICTORIAN GOVERNMENT ISSUE ALL MEMBERS OF VICTORIA POLICE WITH SUITABLE OPERATIONAL EQUIPMENT SUCH AS TASERS AND SEMI AUTOMATIC FIREARMS WE CALL FOR THE INTRODUCTION OF WORK PLACE BANS.”

“THAT UNLESS THE CHIEF COMMISSIONER AND THE BRUMBY GOVERNMENT UNDERTAKE PROPER NEGOTIATIONS WITH THE POLICE ASSOCATION IN RELATION TO THE  PROPOSED DISCIPLINE SYSTEM, THE IMPROPER ASSOCIATIONS POLICY AND AMENDMENTS TO THE POLICE REGULATION ACT WE CALL FOR THE INTRODUCTION OF WORK PLACE BANS.”

  

 

Post-rally meetings continue tomorrow in Bendigo:

The Association will provide a BBQ for members following the meeting.

 

It is important that as many members as possible attend so that you can have your say on the issues affecting you and your ability to do your job.
