Post-rally member meeting – Bendigo

Post-rally meetings continued today with a meeting at Bendigo Town Hall. At the meeting, members carried the following resolutions:

“IT APPEARS THE CHIEF COMMISSIONER AND THE STATE GOVERNMENT HAVEN’T RESOLVED THE RESOURCING ISSUES ACROSS THE STATE, AFFECTING MEMBERS AND IMPACTING ON COMMUNITY SAFETY AND CALL UPON TPA MEMBERS TO INTRODUCE WORK BANS IF THE  GOVERNMENT FAILS TO ACT ON THIS ISSUE.”

“MEMBERS INTRODUCE WORK BANS IF THE CHIEF COMMISSIONER DOESN’T INTRODUCE DEFINITE TIMELINES FOR THE INTRODUCTION OF SEMI-AUTOMATIC WEAPONS.”

“MEMBERS INTRODUCE WORK BANS IF THE CHIEF COMMISSIONER DOESN’T APPROVE THE INTRODUCTION OF TASERS AS A NON LETHAL ALTERNATIVE WITHIN A REASONABLE TIMEFRAME.”

Tomorrow’s post-rally meeting will take place in Shepparton:

The Association will provide a BBQ for members following the meeting.

It is important that as many members as possible attend so that you can have your say on the issues affecting you and your ability to do your job.

Meetings will take place throughout the state until June 30.  Check the Members Only Section of our website www.tpav.org.au or contact your local delegate for details about your nearest meeting.
