Senior sergeants say no to mobility model

Today, 200 senior-sergeants met with The Police Association to further discuss the Force’s intended mobility model.

As part of the proposed model, Force Command intends to rotate senior sergeants from any region and department out of their positions, just as it attempted to do recently to members within the Crime Department.

At today’s meeting, senior sergeants once again expressed their overwhelming opposition to the mobility model and passed the following motion unanimously.

“THAT THIS MEETING OF SENIOR SERGEANTS TOTALLY OPPOSES ANY COMMENCEMENT BY THE VICTORIA POLICE FORCE TO ROTATE ANY SENIOR SERGEANT AND NO MEMBER AT SENIOR SERGEANT RANK PARTICIPATES IN ANY EXPRESSION OF INTEREST PROCESS THAT WILL FACILITATE A ROTATION, AND FURTHER, THAT THIS ISSUE BE RAISED AT THE SCHEDULED MASS REGIONAL AND METROPOLITAN MEETINGS OF THE POLICE ASSOCIATION MEMBERS WITH THE INTENTION OF INCLUDING THIS ISSUE IN ANY ACTION THE BROADER MEMBERSHIP MAY WANT TO INITIATE IN OTHER ISSUES CURRENTLY CONFRONTING THE POLICE ASSOCIATION.”
