Force agrees to Association push for a review of TPU
Following repeated requests by The Police Association, the Victoria Police Force has agreed to conduct a review of its Transfer and Promotion Unit. Since the TPU’s inception many Association members have expressed criticisms to us about many aspects of the TPU and the way it operates. As a first step in this review process, the Force has agreed to work with the Association to define the parameters of this review by developing specific terms of reference. To ensure that the views of members are accurately represented by the Association during this review process, we again invite members who have concerns about the TPU and / or the current model for transfer and promotion to forward their written submissions to us as soon as possible. Think ahead if planning a change in direction to your policing career
At the end of December 2009, there will be minor changes to time-in-position requirements / exemptions which members should bear in mind if they are thinking about their future career direction. The Police Association urges members to be aware of these changes before considering a transfer to ensure that you do not limit your career opportunities in the future. For further information about how these changes could affect you (including case study examples), please visit the relevant section on our website by clicking HERE. Greg Davies |
