DISCIPLINE ADVOCATE 

The Police Association Victoria seeks to employ a Discipline Advocate to fill a position that is soon-to-be vacant.  

Working out of The Police Association offices in East Melbourne, the successful applicant will report to the Manager (Legal) and form part of a dynamic legal team with responsibilities including representation of members of The Police Association at discipline inquiries and Police Appeals Board reviews.

Having a sound knowledge of the Police Regulation Act and related legislation, policies and procedures, applicants should also be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to the ethos and principles of The Police Association and to those of Unions/Employee Associations generally.

The successful applicant for the position will be required to seek Leave Without Pay approval from the Victoria Police Force as part of an anticipated conditional secondment arrangement should they wish to preserve their “constable of police” status. Victoria Police have provided conditional ‘in-principal’ approval for this secondment subject to local and individual circumstances.
